Save the date! The premieres of three key protagonists of contemporary musical theater – Dmitry Tcherniakov, Kirill Serebrennikov and Teodor Currentzis – will be the centerpiece of the 2025 Salzburg Festival's summer program of the Opera Friends Society, taking place August 17–20. A full schedule of events will be announced shortly.

    The long-awaited Salzburg debut of great Russian director Dmitry Tcherniakov. In the orchestra pit is Emmanuelle Haim, who specializes in Handel's baroque operas. The role of Cleopatra will be sung by Ukrainian soprano Olga Kulchynska. The part of Caesar will be performed by the world-famous countertenor Christophe Dumaux.

    A spectacular conclusion of the Friends summer program – a unique concert of Maestro Teodor Currentzis and the Utopia Orchestra, with the participation of the universally acclaimed pianist Alexander Melnikov. The program includes Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No. 2 and Gustav Mahler's Fourth Symphony.

    The highlight of Marina Davydova's theatrical season in Salzburg is Kirill Serebrennikov's “The Blizzard” based on the story by Vladimir Sorokin. Featuring August Diehl, Nikita Kukushkin, Yang Ge, Varvara Shmykova and other artists who have regularly collaborated with the acclaimed director at Moscow's Gogol Center.
